TowerTalkFRTOL revision
Revise for the FRTOL properly — not just the night before
The FRTOL practical isn't a memory test — it's a fluency test. TowerTalk turns your revision into a structured path: learn each topic, hear it spoken, say it out loud to a live AI controller, and finish with full mock practicals graded against CAP 413.
A guided course, in exam order
Work from the phonetic alphabet to a full cross-country flight, module by module, with your progress tracked — so your revision has a shape instead of random dipping.
Revise by listening
The audio revision guide reads the whole syllabus aloud — revise in the car, at the gym or before bed, then test what stuck with the written questions.
Speak it, don't just read it
Reading phraseology isn't the same as producing it under pressure. Practise every call by voice with an AI controller that responds to what you actually say.
Finish with graded mocks
Sit the full mock practical as many times as you like. Every call is scored to CAP 413 with specific feedback, and your weak areas feed a personal drill.

Frequently asked
What should I revise for the FRTOL?
The practical assesses standard radio calls across a flight: departure, en-route services, zone and MATZ transits, arrivals and circuit calls, plus urgency (PAN PAN) and distress (MAYDAY) procedures and mandatory readbacks. The examiner is listening for correct CAP 413 phraseology and format.
How long does FRTOL revision take?
It varies by student. Most of the difficulty is fluency rather than knowledge — which is why repetition out loud matters more than re-reading notes. Short, frequent spoken practice beats long reading sessions.
Is this the official exam?
No — TowerTalk is a practice and revision aid. The real FRTOL practical is conducted by a CAA-authorised examiner. TowerTalk gets you to the test confident and fluent.
Can I revise on my phone?
Yes. The course, audio guide and mock exams all run in the browser on desktop, tablet and mobile — with hands-free audio for revision on the move.
